Sophomore boys place 4th at City Invite

At the Aurora City meet the tomcats had a bunch of great performances both individual and team. First the sophomore boys placed 4th overall right behind Waubonsie Valley, West Aurora, and Marmion. Top placers in the sophomore boys race was Cesar Gonzalez (11th, 17:04.3), Ricky Barajas (20th, 18:00.0), and Abel Mosquedo (21st, 18:00.2). Boys varsity squad had strong races from both Andy Parra (6th, 15:07.7) and Gerardo Paleo (7th, 15:13.7) that help the tomcats place 6th overall. In the girls jv race, top placer was freshmen Vanessa Martinez cover the course 22:26.7 and placed 28th overall. The team placed 6th overall respectively right behind Aurora Christian. On the varsity girls side, the tomcats had only two competitors who competed in the race. First finisher was Carla Salas (Jr) placed 28th with a time of 20:47.0. The last finisher was Anahi Valezquez (Sr) with a time of 23:35.3 which placed her 42nd. It was a very good start to 2009 season with many bigger meets still to come on the schedule.
